Replacing the HD isn't "easy" but I did it. Are the upgrades to the mini sufficient? Should I use an external hard drive or upgrade the internal? Is 2T enough?Ģ. I would probably pick up one of the Schiit Audio DACs - probably a Modius, and use some Audioquest cables between the Mini, the DAC and my preamp.ġ.
I was thinking I would upgrade the Mini to 16 ram and 2T hard drive. My wife has a late 2014 Mac Mini that I can use. I have about 500 CDs that I want to rip to FLAC using a new LG external CD drive I picked up. However, I have read many of the threads and posts regarding digital servers, especially using the mac mini. (Please see my profile for my current components).
Due to shrinking space for physical media and a desire to begin downloading and playing hi res files, I need to add a digital front end to my analog system.
